From the Principal

I am very hopeful we have passed the winter months and everything that comes with them. As the weather gets warmer, students start to lose interest in school. It takes all of us, parents, teachers, and administration to keep them focused.

I am very proud of the hard work our students did on their Black History Projects and Superintendent Writing Competitions. Blaney had several winners in both. In the Black History Projects Competition Luke Allen was first place in the district for third grade, Amariya Benson was third place, Kennedi Beaman was second place for fourth grade and Reaiah Carter was second place for fifth grade.

In the Superintendent's Writing Competition for Blaney Abbie Rizzo won the third grade award, Hadden Steward won the fourth grade award and Zhari Guthery won for fifth grade. Hadden also won the overall competition for the district. Congratulations to all of these students.

We have some special events in March so below are a few of them:

March 6 Kona Ice (proceeds given to the Red Cross)

Blaney students were challenged by Mr. Yount to raise $3000 for the American Heart Association during our Jump Rope for Heart Event.  Students exceeded the goal and raised over $5900!  The challenge was met, and the top fundraisers in each grade level taped Mr. Yount to the wall in our main hallway.

We have a new procedure for our students arriving and departing by car. If your children are "car riders," it is very important that you review the attached document.
